Common questions
Asked before, answered honestly
Do I keep the rights to my book?
Yes — entirely. Your rights, your royalties, your accounts. SJF Ventures LLC is a services team working for you; we take no ownership stake in your work, and every account we set up is created in your name and documented for handover.
What stage does my book need to be at?
Any stage. We work with finished manuscripts, half-finished drafts, and books that are still an idea. The consultation establishes where you are and what the realistic path to market looks like from there.
Do you work with first-time authors?
First-time authors are the reason the company exists. The process is built so you never need prior publishing knowledge — you make the creative decisions, and we translate them into the technical ones.
What does it cost?
It depends on what your book needs, which is why every engagement starts with a consultation and a written roadmap with transparent scope and pricing. You'll know exactly what you're buying before you commit to anything — including the services we'd advise you to skip.
How long does it take to publish a book?
A finished manuscript typically reaches the market in three to six months, depending on the editorial work required and the launch window we plan together. Your roadmap includes a dated timeline for your specific book.
